CAD or BIM
In the world of architectural design there are many useful tools to better our work. Two of them are CAD (Computer Aided Design) and BIM (Building Information Modeling). The first one is used in a lot of professions like Electronic and Electric Engineer and Architecture; however, BIM has been made to work only in the architectural design. BIM only can work in 3-D while CAD works with 2-D and 3-D at the same time. BIM offers information related to light, geography, spatial relationship and quantities and properties of the building, in contrast CAD do not offer directly this information. CAD uses a 2-D vector system to generate 3-D models but BIM uses a graphical interface in 3-D that make the job faster and more understandable. CAD has been designed to work with only geometric structures in contrast with BIM that can model geometric and non-geometric structures. Unlike CAD which uses a system based in lines in a plan to then produce a model, BIM use a direct modeling system that compile all the information needed at a real time without working on the plans first.
